MC 06 members Laura Eisenbeis and Bree Dunn spent some time in Germany together before going their separate ways on other trips. Some of the highlights: they saw the castle used as the basis for Cinderella's castle in the Disney movie and sported their gear for the Germany vs. Turkey football game at a watch party!

Sheryl in Concert!
I've been in London all summer, and a fellow Alpha Mu Theta made a trip to London yesterday: Sheryl Crow! My roommates and I went to see Sheryl in concert at Hyde Park in London; she played with Eric Clapton, John Mayer, Jason Mraz, and Robert Randolph. Sheryl's set was phenomenal - she looked and sounded great, and at the end all of the artists came out and performed a few numbers together. We had a beautiful, sunny day for the outdoor concert, which is very unusual weather for London! In short, it was a great day and an awesome show, and I was so proud to call Sheryl an Alpha Mu!

Londontown
Bree Dunn and Laura Eisenbeis, both MC 06, recently stayed with me in London! I was happy to let Laura and Bree crash on my couch, and they got to see the city. Laura was on her way back from a month abroad in Italy, and Bree is on her way to Prague to study abroad there. They saw Big Ben, the Tower of London, and even went to a performance of the musical Wicked! We went out together at night, dined at DeMario's, a favorite restaurant of Princess Diana's, and had traditional afternoon tea at Kensington Palaca, the former home of Princess Diana. It was great to see some familiar faces from home!

Our District Wins the "Pansy" Challenge (With 1870)!

We are pleased to announce that the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation Pansy Patch Challenge raised $42,000 this year! The challenge involved members of Theta chapters purchasing "pansies" that were all put up onto a massive pansy wall at Grand Convention, and the money will go to things like scholarships for Thetas across the nation. And, we're proud to say, our district (District IX) won the challenge by selling 22% of the total pansies! All chapters in our country are divided into "districts" geographically, and our district is not the largest in terms of number of chapters or members, but we purchased the most pansies: 1,870 - what are the odds that we would purchase a number equal to the year Theta was founded?! Great work ladies!
